One of the Best Days Ever

February 4, 2012 was one of the best days ever! Heber got baptized on his eighth birthday. He had been so excited to be baptized and we were so proud of him for everything he learned and understood. It was such a wonderful, precious experience to see him baptized. I expected it to be great, but it was amazing! It was definitely a ‘partaking of the fruit’ day.

The night before, we had a friend birthday party and Jack and Eve came along. On the morning of Heber’s birthday Jack came into our room and I said, “Jack! It’s Heber’s birthday!” With an annoyed look on his face Jack said, “Again?” haha! With Heber, Eve, and Ella’s birthdays in February it makes for a hard month for Jack.

After Heber’s baptism we had a bunch of family come over for Heber’s birthday and lunch. It was such a pretty day and Heber enjoyed playing outside with his cousins.

That night we got a babysitter and Brian and I took Heber out all by himself. It was so fun to play with him. After a lot of deliberation, we went to Chili’s. We got him a special drink and they sang to him at the restaurant. J It was so funny to watch him realize they were going to sing to him when he saw them singing to someone else. Haha. He was like, “Do they have to do that to me?” haha. So great.

After dinner we planned on taking him to a movie, but he asked if we could go get a movie and some treats and watch the movie at my mom and dad’s house. Brian thought that meant a lot that he wanted to spend his day surrounded by people he loves.

Uncle Isaac had bought Heber a football and after we were home Heber and I played catch in the basement. It was so fun! It was just so great to just play with him. We are so blessed as parents to have Heber in our lives. He is such a wonderful, caring person and it is such a privilege to watch him grow.
