After I was on bed rest for a week and a half, we got an email from Brian's mom about his dad's condition. His dad has had skin cancer for about 3 years. We found out last week that the tumors went to his brain and they did emergency surgery to drain the built up of fluid in his brain. His dad is now in a rehab center for a few more weeks and hopefully the radiation and other treatments will keep him with us for a long time.
We took all of the kids up to the hospital last week to visit. I think Heber might have been a little freaked out by the staples in his head. I mean, what kid wouldn't? We've had a lot of cancer in our family. Heber asks a lot of questions about it and I think he has a pretty queezy stomach when it comes to talking about surgery. Needless to say, Heber thinks cancer sucks.
Lately Jack has been mimicking his great-grandma Olson by saying, "Thank you kind sir." He was saying it a ton yesterday and when Heber came home he did something for Jack and Jack said, "Thank you kind sir!" And Heber was like, "MOM!!! Jack just called me cancer!!" Haha. The way he says it really does sound like cancer and I guess Heber really doesn't like being called cancer. I don't blame him.

Looks like Jack found Heber's Didi Coridini?
Leave it to Michelle to find humor in the middle of bed rest and cancer.
